Privacy Policy

UnitPanda keeps your data on your device. There's no account, and your conversions never leave your phone. The one exception is optional, opt-in ad measurement you can turn off at any time — this policy explains exactly what is, and isn't, collected.

1. The short version

• No account. UnitPanda does not require you to sign up or log in.
• Conversions stay on your device. Your calculation history, favorite units, and theme preferences are stored locally on your iPhone.
• Ad measurement is opt-in. If you allow tracking when the app asks, UnitPanda uses Meta's SDK to measure which ads led people to install. Decline and nothing is shared — every feature still works (see §6).
• Optional iCloud sync. If you enable it, your data syncs through your private iCloud account — we never see it.
• Live rates are fetched anonymously. To show current currency and crypto prices, the app asks our rate provider for a public price list. No personal data is sent.

2. Information we don't collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contact list, photos, or precise location. We do not use your advertising identifier unless you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt described in §6. Outside of that, we do not build a profile of you or sell any data.

3. Information stored on your device

UnitPanda stores the following data on your iPhone, never on our servers:

• Calculation and conversion history
• Favorite units and pinned currencies
• Theme, accent color, and density preferences
• Subscription status (as reported by Apple StoreKit)

You can clear this data at any time from the app's settings or by uninstalling the app.

4. Live rate data

To display live currency and cryptocurrency rates, UnitPanda fetches public market data from third-party providers. These requests contain no personal information — they ask for the same price list regardless of who is asking. Providers may log standard network metadata (IP address, request timing) for abuse prevention; that is governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Subscriptions and Apple

Subscriptions to UnitPanda Premium are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple sends us only a signed receipt that indicates whether your subscription is active. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes purchases.

6. Advertising and attribution

UnitPanda runs ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to reach new users. To understand whether those ads actually work, the app includes Meta's SDK, which can report events such as app installs, launches, and subscription purchases to Meta.

• We ask first. On first launch, the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline — or simply don't grant permission — your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used and no cross-app tracking takes place.
• Privacy-preserving measurement. Regardless of your choice, Apple's SKAdNetwork may report aggregated, non-identifying install data. It does not identify you.
• You can change your mind. Turn tracking on or off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Data shared with Meta is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.

7. Crash reports

If you opt in to share diagnostics with developers through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may forward anonymized crash and performance reports to us. These reports do not include personal information. You can opt out at any time in iOS Settings.

8. Children

UnitPanda does not knowingly collect personal data from children. The optional ad measurement in §6 only runs if tracking permission is granted, so the app is safe for users of any age to use under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

9. Your rights

Nearly all app data is held on your device — you control it completely. For any advertising data processed through Meta, you can withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings, and you have rights under Meta's policy. 10. Cookies and this website

The sections above cover the UnitPanda iOS app. Our marketing website, unitpanda.com, additionally uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our ads perform.

• Consent-gated. The pixel and its cookies load only after you accept our cookie banner. Decline and nothing loads — the site works exactly the same.
• What it does. When enabled, it records page views and clicks on this website and shares them with Meta so we can attribute ad performance. It is separate from anything in the app.
• Change your mind. Use Cookie settings in the footer to withdraw or update your choice at any time.

Data shared with Meta is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how UnitPanda handles data, we will update this page and bump the “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be communicated in-app.
